Conway, Jackie

In 1980 I completed my foundation in Fine Art at Oxford Polytechnic. The following year I attended Bristol where I gained a BA Hons degree in Fine Art. Since then I have continued painting, drawing and printmaking. I ran a life drawing class at the East Oxford Community Centre and helped at St Gregory’s School with the A level students.

For the past 16 years I have been showing my artwork at venues around Oxford and
I am a member of the Oxford Art Society and the Oxford Printmakers Co-op. I also show my work during Art weeks at different places.

I continually bring new life into my work through studies and drawings. It is important to be flexible with your subject matter as this leads to interesting ideas for Paintings and Etchings. I like the complexity of figurative work although sometimes they have an abstract feel through the process of simplifying the image.
