My still life paintings are all created from my environment where I have seen a collection or combination of beautifully crafted objects that have filled me with joy such as ‘The chair’ which was hanging from a beam in an upholstery studio. My canvases often have integrated repair work which suggests transience and relates to the idea of wab-sabi. This theme is carried through in still-life paintings that combine the passing of time with shadows and reflections.

I am South African and I trained in fine art and teaching before coming to the UK in 1998.

I practised fine lettering for many years and I have an artwork in The Fitzwilliam Gallery in Cambridge.

I am an Honorary member of Oxford Art Society and an Associate member of Ayres House.
