Lizzie Wheeler

Lizzie Wheeler  B.1996 in Oxford

Lizzie is a printmaker living and working in Oxford. She works primarily in linocut, woodcut, and collagraph, enjoying the process of stylisation and the element of craftsmanship involved. Her work pays close attention to colour and pattern and harks to the decorative art of the 20th century British printmakers who have informed her sense of design.

Inspiration for Lizzie’s work comes from the natural world, the creatures who inhabit it, and a desire to draw attention to the beauty and importance of wild places.

Lizzie graduated with a distinction from an art foundation at Oxford Brookes university in 2016, and a first class degree in Graphics and Illustration from Bath Spa University in 2019.

She has exhibited since 2020, both independently and as part of group shows. Notably with the Oxford Art Society, where she has won multiple awards, and at the Affordable Art fairs in London. Her work is held in several collections, including the Mylo art gallery, the Iona House gallery, and the Kevis House gallery.

‘Inspired by the form, movement, and colour of wildlife, Wheeler’s prints reflect a deep connection to the natural world. With a background in graphic communications, she balances clarity with warmth, infusing each composition with care and curiosity.’ – The Affordable Art Fair
