Maggie Bicknell

I’m a largely self-taught painter who has learned from fellow artists and a lot of trial and error and simply painting. I use oils and chalk pastel but I’m interested in trying oil pastels and experimenting with watercolours. What do I paint? Objects and places around me – I particularly like interiors – and I’ve a great affection for ordinary things which are often overlooked. I go out and work plein air on landscapes but will finish in the studio. I exhibit every year in Artweeks (except 2026!) and with Oxford Art Society when I can.
