Ron Ford

Biography

Ron graduated from the Falmouth School of Art in 2012 with an MA Fine Art Contemporary Studies, and in 2019 completed the year-long Artist Mentoring Programme at the Newlyn School of Art. He lives and works from Finstock in West Oxfordshire.

Ron’s work has been regularly selected for the open exhibitions of the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour (RI), the Royal Watercolour Society (RWS), the Royal Society of Marine Artists (RMSA) in London, and the Royal West of England Academy (RWA) in Bristol.  He is also a member of the Oxford Art Society, the XVI and OPTICS group of artists, and has had a number of solo exhibitions around the UK.

Art Practice

Ron is a full-time artist based at his studio in Finstock. He is primarily a painter but also exhibits photographic prints, sculpture, installations and video and sound.

His main interest is in the natural environment, the meaning of landscape and the role it plays in our short lives. He creates research based, site-specific, work that goes beyond the physical appearance of any one place.
