Martin Smith
In recent years my sculptures have been mainly abstract, often inspired by organic forms, but I have also made figurative pieces and am currently expanding that area of work: the human form is an inexhaustible subject. Much of my work is in stone (various alabasters, marbles, limestones and others), with a small group of bronzes, which will be continued with the figurative sculpture project. I came to sculpture some fifteen years ago after a career in academic publishing, winning the Mary Moser Award for artists who have made art a second career, in 2013/14.
I am happy to discuss commissions in both abstract or figurative styles and either medium.
