Walking in wild places brings creative thinking. Responsive mark making, considered drawing and watercolour sketching all add to my reverie, evoking thoughts on process, continua, extremes, transience and the universal struggle in all life to achieve balance. Finding time to make studio art in the form of painting and more recently ceramics too, is the fulfilment of life long ambition. Process led, intuitive and experimental, my work is layered, scored and textural . To varying degrees of abstraction it attempts to convey nuanced emotional connections with nature and place.
At home I have The Windrush Valley and an unkempt garden. I also spend increasing time on the coast and moorland paths of W. Penwith. Mountain regions are another great source of inspiration for new work.
I have participated in Oxfordshire Artweeks since 2014, exhibited in solo and group shows in the Cotswold region and in Cornwall, also at RWA, SWAc, RSMA and The Discerning Eye Exhibition in London.

Sally is happy to accept commissions.
