Membership to the Oxford Art Society is by invitation only. It is open to anyone who resides within a 50 mile radius of Oxford and whose work is considered to be of sufficient merit.

To become a member of the Society you will need to submit work; painting, sculpture or printmaking and have it accepted at, at least two of the annual Open Exhibitions. The Committee review all prospective new members’ work during the exhibition and will invite certain artists to join.

Once membership has been offered and the annual subscription paid, work may be submitted to the Members’ and Open Exhibitions – a submission fee per piece is payable. In order to maintain the high quality exhibitions for which the Society is renowned, all work would continue to be subject to selection by the Oxford Art Society’s panel for subsequent shows.

Membership benefits include: a regular newsletter with information about forthcoming exhibition and events; the opportunity to have your own page on this website – please see below; 10% discount at Broad Canvas art shop in Broad Street, Oxford,  on production of a Society membership card.
